LAW CLERK
Luis Maldonado serves as a Law Clerk at Budnik & Reed, where he supports the firm's attorneys on a wide range of commercial litigation, dispute resolution, and business law matters. He brings experience in complex civil and commercial disputes, with a particular focus on cross-border matters involving Mexican and international companies.
Prior to joining Budnik & Reed, Luis represented businesses and individuals in matters involving commercial litigation, breach of contract, corporate governance, construction, real estate, and banking disputes. His experience also includes settlement negotiations, mediation, complex commercial transactions, board advisory work, and commercial contracting across the energy, financial services, real estate, manufacturing, and logistics industries. This diverse background enables him to provide thoughtful legal analysis and practical support on a broad range of business and litigation matters.
Luis earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) from The University of Texas School of Law. While attending law school in Mexico, he co-founded and served as president of the Cruz Miramontes Inn of Phi Delta Phi, demonstrating an early commitment to legal scholarship, leadership, and professional development.
In addition to law, Luis is passionate about music. Outside of the office he enjoys attending concerts, and exploring the outdoors through hiking.
