Julio A. Loret De Mola Gastélum is an attorney licensed to practice law in both Texas and Mexico, bringing an international perspective to complex legal matters. As an Associate Attorney at Budnik & Reed, Julio combines a strong foundation in cross-border legal issues with a passion for emerging technology, privacy, and business law.
Julio earned his LL.M. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law in 2025, where he also received a Certificate of Specialization in Law & Technology. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), reflecting his commitment to staying at the forefront of privacy and data protection law.
Before joining the Texas Bar, Julio practiced law in Mexico, where he has been licensed since 2020. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Universidad Panamericana, along with postgraduate specialization degrees in Commercial Law from Universidad Panamericana and Administrative Law from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).
While in the United States, Julio contributed to legal research for publications with the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) and assisted in editing the sixth edition of Professor Lothar Determann's Field Guide to California Privacy Law. His experience across multiple legal systems and his enthusiasm for innovation make him a valuable resource for clients navigating today's evolving legal landscape.
